Cortright McMeel (1971-2013) was a veteran energy trader, short story writer, and the co-founder of the literary journal Murdaland, where he published Mary Gaitskill, Jayne Ann Phillips, Tom Franklin, and Richard Bausch, among others. His short fiction was published in The Mississippi Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Chicago Quarterly Review, and many other publications. He received his BA degree from the Johns Hopkins University and an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University.< BACK
